Gmail is a fast and feature rich email provider. Whenever attachments are received in Gmail, users either download them or directly view it with the help of Google docs. View option offers a convenience as it helps in deciding whether the document is important or not before downloading it. But what if you don’t have enough time to download it or view it. In such situation you have to again login to your Gmail account and find Gmail that attachment for again viewing.
Save Gmail Attachments To Google Docs
There is an alternate method where you can save Gmail attachments to Google docs directly. This is possible with the help of a Google Chrome extension which lets users save attachments directly to Google Docs. This extension helps Gmail in directly sending attachments to Google docs.
The name of this extension is Gmail Attachments to Docs. Download and install it in your Google Chrome. After installation refresh your Gmail tab and you see option for Save to Docs available next to View and Download option.
If you click the option it will automatically save the attachment to Google Docs. A new tab will be opened which will indicate the saved attachment in Docs. The attachment will be saved with the same name. The only hiccup with this extension is that unlike bulk download option, attachments can only be saved to Docs one by one. There is no bulk save option available.
