Google has been revamping its product’s design from quite a few months. We saw changes in Google Search page, Gmail and now it’s the turn of YouTube. Those who have been following social media websites like Google+, Facebook or Twitter might have noticed the news through ongoing chatter. If you want to get the new YouTube design right now, here is a simple trick to follow.
How To Get The New YouTube Homepage Design
To enable the new YouTube Homepage design a simple cookie can be used. The advantage of this method is that once the cookie is cleared from your browser, YouTube will return back to its old design, hence no harm done.
Since Google is testing the new design so it may or may not go online in future. The new design can be enabled through the following method.
- Open YouTube in Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
- In Chrome, press CTRL + SHIFT + J to open the developer Tools.
- In Firefox, press CTRL + SHIFT + K. This will open web console in Firefox current window/tab.
- Now enter the following text in the console tab.
document.cookie=”VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=ST1Ti53r4fU”;
- Reload YouTube now and you will get the new design instantly.
Once you do this, the new design would look like this.
The new design which is being tested comprises of 3 columns. Left column displays channel information for users. It includes links for channel videos, history, likes, subscription information and other information related to YouTube like trending or what’s popular.
The center or middle column contains user’s subscription. The right column includes recommended videos which are decided on the basis of past user activity on YouTube. Currently the change is visible to just homepage. The new design is not meant to be confused to previously introduced Cosmic Panda feature update. We would suggest first enabling the new design of YouTube and then trying the Cosmic Panda feature.
