How To Install Logitech Wireless DJ On Windows 7

If you are a user of Logitech Wireless DJ whether it is R-RF11, C-RF49 or C-UAF48, you must be aware that these systems require proper driver installation. Installing its driver on Windows XP or Windows Vista is quite easy but when it comes to Windows 7 people gets confused because the Logitech support website only provides driver for previous 2 versions of operating system. But it is possible to install the driver and use these beautiful music pieces. Let’s take a look on how to install Wireless DJ on Windows 7.

  • Download the driver according to your system configuration (32 bit/64bit).

  • Right click on the setup file which you downloaded and then select properties. Go to the compatibility tab and click on “Modify for all users”.
  • Check the option “Run this software in compatibility mode” and select Windows XP (SP3).
  • Check the option at the bottom for “Run this software as administrator” and then click OK.

  • Run the setup file; follow the steps of installation and then restart the system.
  • While the system restarts, connect your Wireless DJ system to your PC and stereo.
  • Once you are done with connecting, start the remote controller of the device.
  • After reboot, click on start and type %temp% in the search bar.

  • A new window with temporary files will open in front of you. In that window look for a folder named “Logitech StreamPoint 1.5”.
  • Open the folder and right click on the file named “setup”, select properties, select on compatibility tab and click on “Modify for all users”.
  • Check the option “Run this software in compatibility mode as:” and select “Windows Vista (No service pack)”

  • Check the option at the bottom “Run this software as administrator” and click OK.
  • Run the setup and complete all steps during installation.
  • As soon as the installation gets finished, a pop up window will appear to restart the system. Click yes and let the system reboot.
  • Once it gets rebooted go to “Streampoint Settings”, in “Room/Receivers” and select “Room”. Finally click on “Select for Playback”.
  • Switch on your Hi-Fi Stereo before clicking “Play Test Sound”.

So folks, if you follow these steps carefully without missing anyone of them then you would be able to enjoy the beautiful music from your Logitech Wireless DJ. For your convenience we have added pictures so that you may not face any problem.

Followed all your steps but no music out of stereo just out of pc ….. I have set it up with the rooms and all that….. Can you give me any tips

Since you have not specified your operating system, so at this point of time I would suggest you to reinstall the driver again following all the steps mentioned carefully.

I have windows 7 Professional and have tried this method of installing the WDJ software and drivers.

Unfortunately it doesn’t work. The sound is played for about 4 seconds on the hifi before cutting out and playing out of the PC.

Sorry guys but the search goes on.

Can someone help me here? I set up my Logitech Wireless DJ on Windows 7 as per the iTech-Mag instructions (“Rockin on May 19, 2010″) and music plays from my computer (Windows 7) through the USB Music Transmitter/Music Receiver/Dock to my sterio receiver but I can’t get the Wireless DJ Remote to display anything except “ok” so it cannot be used to control my music program.

I have installed my WDJ on Win7 64bit using the Vista 64bit driver and the vista comp. mode, but I have the same problem as Paul, connects for a few seconds and then rolls back to system’s sound card. I went to sound control panel and i chose the Logitech usb sound device as “primary” but after a few minutes i had the same issue. As Paul said: “…the search goes on.”

Bill, we have checked the process again and this is the only way to make you wireless Dj work on Windows 7. I would suggest you to run the process again as you can see many people got the result by this method. Otherwise suggestions are most welcomed at iTechMag.

Hi,
running win 7 ult 32 bit
I got this working “almost”. The WDJ remote works and I can control my itunes with it no problem. The only problem that the sound only comes from my PC speakers. In logitech streampoint settings under room, there are only two choices, one for realtek speakers and one for realtek digital. There is no option for room or usb transmitter available. I have tried many times to re sync using the steampoint setup wizard, but I can get the dock to work. both the usb transmitter and remote have the check mark, but no luck with the third part. I am guessing that this is related to the USB driver. Does anyone have a work around? any help would be greatly appreciated.

quick update. I was able to go into my device manager listing and found the logitech usb controller listed in sound and video game controlers. I found that no driver was intsalled for the device, so I clicked update driver. I chose use driver already found on my pc and there was only one choice available generic usb audio device. I installed that driver and restarted. Now I can get streampoint to work through my hifi system, but only if I choice logitech usb transmitter as my default device for all audio. I guess switching the default back and forth is a lot better than no music at all. Thanks to everyone on this forum for putting up this helpful info

I have tried these steps numerous times with the two different Streampoint files and when I get to the step that states “Run the setup and complete all steps during installation,” I get an error message stating that this product is not compatible with my operating system. My operating system is Windows 7, but I am unsure of the “bit” information. Can anyone help?

I am having the same problem which is fraustrating arrrr why cant logitech just make a win 7 install file they have terrible product support and managment very annoying

Daniel November 22, 2011 at 6:16 pm

Works for me so far. Only issue I have that Win7 (32bit) doesn’t start the StreamPoint Software at startup as it is supposed to do.
After each system restart I have to start the software manually.
Don’t know why. Any ideas?
