Just like other USB 3.0 gears it is also backward compatible. DTU30G2 uses USB 3.0 port and supporting tech to give its very fast performance. While using it in USB 3.0 ports you will get a read speed up to 100MB/s and write speed up to 70MB/s. If plugged in USB 2.0 port, the drive will give a performance read and write speed up to 30MB/s.
