Limit/Reduce Firefox Memory Usage: Firefox Tip

Those who monitor their system memory must know that Firefox eats a lot of system memory. At times Firefox even crashes or becomes unresponsive due to this problem. So what can you do to reduce Firefox memory usage? Well we dug some addons out of the huge addons library and found few of them good enough to solve the problem. Firefox is very much preferred because of the addons and here the solution is also being offered by the addons. Let’s check out which addon can help you to limit Firefox memory usage.

Limit/Reduce Firefox Memory Usage With Memory Fox

Memory Fox is a Firefox addon only available for Windows users. Memory Fox has the ability to recover dynamic RAM memory which eventually reduces and provides enough memory required as resource demand. As soon as you enable this addon, you will be able to see the difference. Once installed, you can activate it from Tools>Memory Fox>Activate or you can simply left click on its icon on the status bar.

Memory Fox have two modes. In Mode 1 it just helps to reduce the excess memory being utilized by Firefox. In Mode 2, Memory Fox can be sent to system tray from where it can be used for memory recovery and retention of few other applications such as TweetDeck, iTunes, Songbird and Global processes (All system processes).

With this simple addon you can limit/reduce Firefox memory usage. We have attached images of the running processes before installing Memory Fox and after installation.

how can this work when a company give access to firefox through citrix?
these settings goes to firefox globally or to every signle user profile manually?

If you are accessing Firefox through citrix then the settings would show its effect globally…
