We daily get news from our friends and queries from our readers that their Facebook account got hacked. That’s why we will tell you today how to secure Facebook Account access using login approvals. There are several methods, so let’s discuss them one by one.
How To Secure Facebook Account Using Login Approvals
To secure Facebook Account there are 5 methods. We will be specifically focusing on login approvals which is a new security facility which Facebook offers to all of its users.
1. Enable HTTPS
Many people think why HTTPS is such a big deal. Well it is actually a big deal because HTTPS in comparison to simple HTTP secures your communication between server and your computer. Once the HTTPS is enabled no one would be able to hack the information channel between your computer and server; making your channel of communication completely safe. Nowadays browsers also show the secure URLs with the help of certificates issued by authentic authorities.

To enable HTTPS, you have to login to your Facebook account and then click on Account >> Account Settings.

Under the Settings tab, select Account security. Select the checkbox for option saying Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) whenever possible.

Finally click on save to keep these settings.
2. Facebook Login Approvals
Just like Google, Facebook has also included two step authentication service. This service is also known as Login Approvals. It lets you to login by using your desired password and a security code (authentication code) which is sent to your registered mobile. Once enabled, this service will every time go for two step authentication i.e. your password and security code sent to your mobile.

3. Login Notifications
For increasing the security layer you can also check the options under login notifications where if any unrecognized computer or device tries to access your account, you will be either notified through email or a text message on your Facebook registered mobile. You can also check both the options.

Just below login notifications you will also find last login details along with certain details like:
- Last access time
- Location (from where it was accessed)
- Device type (also mentions the browser name)
4. Check Facebook Email Phishing
Never click on suspicious links on Facebook, no matter even if it is sent by your known ones (friends or family). Facebook is well known for worms which spread fast by posting themselves on friends wall. If you want to keep yourself updated with the news about Facebook scams then Facecrooks.com is the site you should prefer. Also you should cross check the sender email address. All Facebook emails originated from facebookmail.com domain.

5. Facebook one-time password
Facebook provides on-time password facility just Hotmail. As the name suggests, this one-time password is a temporary password and it expires within 20 minutes of creation. It can only be used just once. To get one-time password you have to activate a phone number on which Facebook would send messages. To access this facility you need to go to Account >> Account Settings and there under the tab named Mobile you can register your phone for one-time password.

Once the mobile number is activated for Facebook you will receive a temporary password and you would be able to login with that password.
So these are all methods through which you can make your Facebook account secure. If you know any other method then do share with us.
